About us

Family camping experiences Great Grandad Frank would be proud of!

From Grandad Harry’s camping adventures across 1950s Canada, to Great Grandad Frank’s now-legendary trips to Anderby Creek — remarkably squeezing a family of three and all their kit into a motorbike and sidecar — camping has always been in our blood.

Fast forward a few decades to 1990, and there we were, piling into the old Volvo and racing along the Dorset coast listening Neneh Cherry on the stereo and excitement in the air.

“Camping holidays have always been the thread that ties our family together — from the roots to the branches of our family tree.”

That’s why, when we opened our very own campsite in 2015, it felt completely natural. And since then, we’ve grown alongside the families who return to pitch up with us year after year — often bringing more of their friends along each year. It’s more than just a place to stay. It’s a place where muddy boots dry by the fire pit, where kids ditch the screens and run free, and where strangers become friends under starry skies.

We’ve built a campsite we love — and we hope you’ll love it too

Friendly and helpful staff, that go an extra mile to make sure that your stay is comfortable and memorable. The kids can run amok in a safe environment & it is also dog friendly.

  • The facilities are great

    L. Wells

The minute we arrived at Harry’s Field we were greeted with a warm, friendly welcome and made to feel completely at home. Everything was explained to us, from the location of our pitch and facilities to how we could pre-order wood fired pizzas on Saturday night

  • We’ll be back

    N. Filer

The loveliest owners, cute atmosphere with twinkling lights & fire pits in the evening and bunting & coffee shop during the day. Super clean facilities

  • What a gem of a campsite

    C. Bridel

I found Harry’s Field and we absolutely loved it! As soon as we arrived, Harriet met us with a lovely warm welcome and offered lots of advice for our stay as we wanted to walk and find some wild swimming spots.

  • Highly recommend

    F. Dingwall

The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The place has a lovely family feel. Our bell tent was very comfortable, clean and the amenities more than sufficient.

  • What an amazing site

    R. Bowker

Just spent another glorious weekend at the amazing Harry’s Field. This was our 10th year of visiting and loved every minute as usual.

  • Returning next year

    K. Doran

We booked last minute for a bell tent as always wanted to try glamping. The Old Airfield site is brilliant, lovely chilled atmosphere with good clean facilities – separate showers which is perfect.

  • Dog friendly & great vibes

    B. Ratcliff

Had a lovely stay at the start of July. The staff were very friendly and the site was well run and clean including the shared areas/toilets. A fantastic walk to the Horse & Groom pub across beautiful meadows and woodland.

  • Such a beautiful campsite

    H. Pilates

The facilities are amazing, clean and well looked after. It is run with love by wonderful people and it’s a great family campsite. The children love seeing the new forest ponies and amazing walks right from the gate.

  • We can’t wait for next summer

    P. Perkins

We had a lovely stay at The Old Airfield! Really liked being able to pick our camping spot rather than being assigned a space, not too crowded with other campers and a lovely relaxed atmosphere with the kids able to run around and play in the massive field.
